World Class Farriery

As a professional farrier I've dedicated my career to continuing my education. Over the years I've attended dozens of clinics, conferences, and seminars and spent years working under and along side the most talented farriers and veterinarians in their respective fields. This dedication to understanding locomotion and lameness has given me the tools to provide the best possible basic farriery that there is to offer. My preference is to emphasize the basic fundamentals to properly "balance" the equine digit. I believe it is this emphasis of focusing on the trim and proper shoe placement that allows me to keep most of the horses in my care working to the best of their ability with just four plain shoes. It is this understanding and the highly skilled application of this philosophy that gives me the confidence to declare the state of my work as World Class.

Lameness

Your equine athletes work hard. And while I feel the best way to deal with lameness is to do everything possible to provent it in the first place, sometimes a horse's work or conformation exceed the bounds of what their hoof capsule can handle. Some horses are susceptible to quarter cracks. Others get sore heels, abscesses, sole bruises, thrush, white line disease...the list goes on. The overall theme I use for these cases is "What will it take to get this horse back in ring?" My intention is to utilize every aspect of my continued education to get your horse sound as soon as possible so both of you can go back to work.

Glue-On Shoes

Sometimes a horse grows poor quality hoof wall or has an injury that makes traditional shoe application a risky endeavor. Often times in these situations glue-on shoes are a great option to help get your horse back in the ring. I've been successfully applying Polyflex, Sigafoos, and Direct Glue Aluminum shoes for over a decade. Often times these applications get a horse that would otherwise be laid up back to the ring in no time at all.

Travel

There are two stars in the James Holub Equine Services logo. The first one stands for Quality. The second stands for Service. While I mainly work between Wellington, Fl and Lexington, KY I'm capable of traveling to just about anywhere. Showing in Tryon for the summer? We can schedule a trip to accomodate your needs. What about Spruce Meadows? We can send you with a travel shop and fly in when your horses are due. My service is second to none and I aim to accomodate the needs of my clients wherever in the world that may take us.
